the small batch story

"It started with family, land, and a simpler way of doing things. Small Batch Farms exists to bring thoughtfully raised products from our family to yours. We are rooted in tradition, honesty, and respect for the process." - Erika abbett, founder

about us

Long before Small Batch Farms had a name, it was just family, open land, and early mornings that didn’t wait for anyone. Our days were shaped by the rhythm of the farm: caring for animals, respecting the land, and learning firsthand that quality comes from patience, not shortcuts.

What we do today is a continuation of that life. We raise and curate products the same way we were taught to do everything here: intentionally, responsibly, and with pride in the details. From our pasture to your table, every choice we make reflects our belief that food should be honest, thoughtfully produced, and worth sharing.

  • family

Who we do this for, and who keeps us grounded. Family is at the heart of everything we build, grow, and share.

  • erika & donnie

The husband-and-wife team behind the operation. Built from hard work, shared values, and a commitment to doing things right.

  • friends

The support behind the scenes that keeps everything moving. Trusted friends and helping hands who step in when it matters most.

small batch farms

Our farm sits on 134 acres of land that wakes up with us every morning. Before the sun is fully up, the work has already begun: early chores turning into long days shaped by weather, seasons, and responsibility. Out here, time moves differently. The land sets the pace, not a clock, and every decision we make is tied to the understanding that this place deserves care, attention, and respect.

This is where patience is learned firsthand. Where animals are raised with room to move, time to grow, and the kind of consistent care that can’t be rushed or replicated. For us, stewardship isn’t a slogan, it’s a daily commitment. From the way our pastures are managed to the way our animals are treated, we believe that doing things the right way always matters more than doing them the fast way.

Every fence mended, every pasture rotated, and every choice we make is guided by one simple belief: the way food is raised matters. This land gives generously, and in return, we work hard to honor it. That means thoughtful practices, hands-on involvement, and an unwavering standard for how things are done, even when no one is watching.

We don’t take shortcuts, and we don’t compromise what we believe in. The result is food we’re proud to stand behind and proud to share beyond our farm gate. What leaves this land carries our name, our effort, and our values with it, and that’s something we take seriously every single day.
