Recommended Cooking Methods

Brisket is best cooked low and slow, allowing the connective tissue to break down into tender, flavorful meat.

Smoker (Recommended)

  • Preheat smoker to 225–250°F.
  • Season generously with your favorite brisket rub.
  • Smoke until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, then wrap in butcher paper or foil.
  • Continue cooking until the brisket reaches 200–205°F and is probe tender, approximately 8–12 hours, depending on thickness.
  • Rest for at least 1 hour before slicing.

Oven Roast

  • Preheat oven to 275°F.
  • Season well and place in a covered roasting pan with a small amount of beef broth.
  • Cook for 5–7 hours, or until fork tender and the internal temperature reaches 200–205°F.

Slow Cooker

  • Place brisket in the slow cooker with broth, onions, garlic, and your favorite seasonings.
  • Cook on Low for 8–10 hours until tender enough to pull apart.

Serving Suggestions

Slice against the grain for classic barbecue, or shred for sandwiches, tacos, nachos, baked potatoes, and hearty family meals. Pair with baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, or roasted vegetables for the perfect farm-to-table feast.
